A brand new legal framework (Law 4487/2017) has been recently introduced, according to which all productions filmed in Greece are eligible for a 25% cash rebate on all costs paid for filming and post-production in the country. The application is online, the process fast tracked (all applications processed within 45 days) and the selection criteria clearly defined in advance.
Foreign producers are eligible to apply through a Greek co-producer or executive producer or even by opening a company branch of their own to operate in Greece. The minimum Greek spent is €100.000 and the rebate caps at €5 million. for any type of creative audiovisual production.
